Privacy Policy — Star Chaser
Last updated: July 2026 · App: Star Chaser (com.andycapps.starchaser) · Developer: AndyCApps
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Star Chaser mobile game ("the App", "we", "us") handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Short version: there's no account and no sign-up. We don't collect your name, email, or precise location. The App shows ads and offers optional purchases, and it can save your progress and show leaderboards — those features involve a few trusted third parties, described below.
Information the App handles
- Advertising data. The App displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may process your device's advertising identifier, IP address (which gives a coarse, approximate location), and general device and ad-interaction information.
- Purchase data. Optional in-app purchases (such as removing ads, coin packs, and cosmetic skins) are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or full billing details. The App stores only which items you have unlocked.
- Game progress (cloud save). The App can save your progress — coins, upgrades, and settings — to a cloud database (Supabase) so it can survive reinstalling the App on the same device. This save is tied to a randomly generated device identifier, not to your name, email, or account.
- Leaderboard data. If you use the leaderboard or friends features, a display name you choose, a generated friend code, and your scores are stored so they can be shown to you and to friends you add. Please avoid entering personal information as your display name, as it may be visible to other players.
- Sharing. If you choose to share your score, the App creates an image and passes it to your device's own share menu. What happens next is handled by whichever app you pick (for example X or a messaging app) under its own privacy policy — the App itself does not post on your behalf.
What we do not collect
- No account registration, log-in, name, or email address.
- No precise GPS location.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
How the information is used
- To display and measure advertising, and to support a paid "remove ads" option.
- To process and restore optional purchases.
- To save and restore your game progress, and to power leaderboards and friend codes.
- To keep the App working, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.
Third-party services
The App relies on the following providers, each with its own privacy policy:
Advertising choices & consent
You can reset or limit ad personalisation using your device's advertising settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android). Where required (for example in the UK and EEA), the App presents a consent prompt for personalised advertising, and you may change your choice at any time.
Data retention
Cloud saves and leaderboard entries are kept while the App is in use. Advertising and purchase data are retained by Google according to its own policies. You can request deletion of your cloud save and leaderboard entry (see Contact below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR / EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information associated with you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights for data we control (your cloud save and leaderboard entry), contact us using the details below.
Children
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
